After about 2 months of training, a few TryHackMe rooms, and rebuilding my notes 3 times, I passed the eJPTv2 certification!
The Test
The test was all open-source, note, resource, etc.
Yes, you can even use Google DURING the test! That's wild, right?
You get 48 hours to complete the objectives. Which doesn't mean you need to use all 48 hours strictly on the test, so it's more of a deadline to get the deliverable information.
It's all just a Black Box (no information given) virtual environment, where you start out in a remote desktop of a Kali linux box. You have to enumerate your environment, find all the devices, pivot into an internal network and enumerate that environment, all while trying to answer dynamic questions the quiz asks you about your environment.
That's why it's all open-note. You can't cheat, because you will have a different environment and questions than anyone else that's taken the test. If you didn't study the HOW then you won't know the answers.
The Course
I absolutely loved how I learned the material for this course.
The teachers, well, one of the two left a lot to be desired. But it was all CBT videos.
The course material was structured in a way that you could mirror your notes to that material, and you will have learned everything you need to pass the test. I could x2 speed the videos to prevent loss of concentration during some dry material, and I could review things as much as I wanted to where I missed a second or two because my brain decided a floating piece of dust was more interesting for a few seconds.
Awesome material, where I felt like I was actually learning something practical the whole time. Everything had a lab for practice. Everything was open source. Everything was free! So now I could use my own home Kali Linux box and go practice what I learned.
The course itself wasn't free but very affordable and VERY worth it.
Honestly I feel everyone should go through some of the material just to be exposed to some of the threats of the technological world.
Overall, one of the few courses that I actually had fun learning. I loved it.
